The Quechua

The Quechua live primarily in the areas of Cochabamba, Sucre and Potosi. They are also found in Peru and Ecuador. Quechua is the common language spoken by these people, but culturally there are many differences. The Quechua account for 30% of the population (about 2.5 million people)

Bolivia is one of the least developed countries in South America. Almost two-thirds of its people, many of whom are subsistence farmers, live in poverty.
